Description

The LYYT 8mm T connector creates a three-way branch point for single colour LED strip, allowing one input strip to feed two output strips at 90° angles. The connector uses a snap-fit design where the strip is inserted into each of the three apertures and clamped into contact with internal copper terminals, eliminating the need for soldering or crimping tools.

Designed for 8mm single colour LED tape installations where the strip needs to branch around corners, down multiple cabinet runs, or across separate surfaces from a single power feed. Common applications include kitchen under-cabinet lighting where a single strip feeds multiple cabinet sections, retail display shelving, architectural cove lighting following non-linear paths, and signage backlighting where the layout requires multiple branches from one driver output.

The connector body measures 48 x 30 x 3mm and weighs 2.5g, giving it a low profile that fits into narrow installation gaps without adding bulk. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments but not bathroom zones or outdoor use. Each connector accommodates standard 8mm single colour strip with two copper pads (positive and negative) — it will not work with RGB, RGBW or tuneable white strips which require additional contacts. Supplied in packs of five.

No. This connector is designed for 8mm single colour LED strip with two copper contact pads (positive and negative). RGB and RGBW strips require four or five contact points and need a different connector type.

Is soldering required?

No. The connector uses a snap-fit clamp design where the LED strip is inserted into each of the three apertures and the cover is pressed down to secure the contact between the strip's copper pads and the connector's internal terminals.

Can this be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector is suitable for dry indoor environments only. For bathroom zones or outdoor use, an IP65 or IP67 rated connector and strip combination is required.

What happens if the strip doesn't light up after connecting?

Check that the copper contact pads on the strip are aligned with the terminals inside the connector and that the clamp is fully closed. Also verify that polarity is consistent across all three branches — reversing positive and negative on one branch will prevent that section from lighting.
