Description

The LYYT 3-pin straight coupler joins two sections of LED rope light end-to-end, maintaining electrical continuity across three conductor pins. The coupler includes heat-shrink sleeving and metal pin connectors that lock into the rope light end caps, creating a weatherproof join when the sleeving is heat-applied.

Designed for extending LED rope light runs in outdoor decorative lighting, garden lighting and architectural accent installations, the coupler allows rope sections to be joined without running separate cable between them. The straight configuration maintains a continuous line without angles or offsets, making it suitable for perimeter lighting around decking, under canopies, and along fascias where the rope needs to run in a single direction across multiple reels.

The 80mm body length and 17mm diameter match the standard LYYT rope light profile, sitting flush with the rope once assembled. The three-pin design supports RGB colour-changing rope or single-colour rope with separate earth, live and neutral conductors. Heat-shrink sleeving contracts when heated with a heat gun, sealing the join against moisture ingress in outdoor installations rated to the rope light's own IP rating.

Is this compatible with all LED rope lights?

No. This coupler is designed specifically for LYYT-branded LED rope light with a 3-pin configuration. It will not fit 2-pin rope, 4-pin RGB+W rope, or rope light from other manufacturers with different end cap profiles.

How is the heat-shrink sleeving applied?

Once the pin connectors are inserted into the rope light end caps and the coupler body is in place, slide the heat-shrink sleeving over the join and apply heat evenly using a heat gun. The sleeving will contract to form a tight seal around the coupler and rope.

Can this be used indoors?

Yes. The coupler works for both indoor and outdoor installations. For outdoor use, ensure the heat-shrink sleeving is fully applied to maintain the weatherproof integrity of the rope light run.

What's included in the pack?

One straight coupler body, heat-shrink sleeving and the required 3-pin metal connectors. No tools are included — you will need a heat gun to shrink the sleeving.
