Description

The LYYT 3-pin LED rope light power cable is a 1.5m mains connection cable for LYYT 3-pin LED rope light installations. The cable carries a UK 3-pin plug at one end and a 3-pin connector at the other, with heat-shrink sleeving and a connector pin supplied to create a sealed joint between the cable and the rope light run.

Rated to power up to 100m of continuous LED rope light on a single circuit, the cable suits both residential and commercial installations where the rope light is being run along garden boundaries, under eaves, around signage, or along architectural features that need static continuous lighting. The 1.5m lead length gives flexibility in positioning the mains connection point relative to the start of the rope light run.

The cable is designed for static (non-animated) light output only. The heat-shrink sleeving provided creates a water-resistant seal once applied with a heat gun, making the connection suitable for outdoor and damp-location installations when paired with IP-rated LYYT rope light. The pin connector slots directly into the 3-pin rope light profile and is secured by the heat-shrink once fitted.

Is this compatible with all LED rope lights?

No. This cable is designed specifically for LYYT 3-pin LED rope light. It will not connect to 2-pin rope light or other manufacturers' rope light systems without the correct pin configuration.

How is the heat-shrink sleeving applied?

The heat-shrink sleeving slides over the joint between the cable's pin connector and the rope light profile. Apply heat from a heat gun (not a lighter or open flame) evenly around the sleeving until it contracts and seals the connection. Allow to cool before handling.

Can this be used outdoors?

Yes, when the heat-shrink sleeving is correctly applied to seal the connection, and when used with IP-rated LYYT rope light. The mains plug should be connected via an RCD-protected outdoor socket or weatherproof enclosure rated for outdoor use.

What does the 100m maximum rating mean?

The cable and connector are rated to safely carry the electrical load for up to 100m of LYYT LED rope light on a single circuit. Runs longer than 100m require additional power injection points to avoid voltage drop and dimming at the far end of the run.
