Description

The Lyria is a three-light cluster pendant from Ideal Lux, combining clear blown glass globes with brass-finished metalwork and decorative internal aluminium wire detailing. Each of the three pendants houses a single E27 bulb behind a transparent glass sphere, with fine aluminium wire running through the interior of the glass to create a web-like effect when lit. The brass canopy and cable runs complement warm-toned interiors and pair comfortably with oak, walnut and terracotta finishes.

Designed for positioning above dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance hall consoles, the Lyria provides ambient light through the clear glass rather than directional task lighting. The three pendants hang at slightly different heights in the cluster formation, with each cable adjustable up to 1m during installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m. The overall spread of the cluster is 550mm, making it suitable for tables 1200-1600mm wide or kitchen islands up to 1800mm long where the pendant sits centrally.

The blown glass globes measure approximately 200mm in diameter and show minor variation in the aluminium wire pattern between individual pieces due to the hand-blown manufacturing process. The brass finish is applied to the metal canopy and cable fixings rather than the wire inside the glass, which remains bare aluminium. The pendant is dimmable when paired with dimmable E27 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full brightness for meal preparation down to low ambient light for evening dining.

The IP20 rating limits the Lyria to dry indoor use only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or any location where moisture is present. The pendant weighs approximately 2.5kg once fitted with bulbs, requiring a secure ceiling fixing capable of supporting this load plus a safety margin.

What bulbs does the Lyria take?

The pendant takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most installations use warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the brass finish and provide ambient dining light. Clear filament-style LED bulbs work particularly well with the transparent glass and internal wire detailing.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable E27 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The brass metalwork and wiring support dimming — bulb and dimmer compatibility determine the actual dimming range and smoothness.

Can the cable lengths be adjusted?

Yes. Each of the three pendants has a cable adjustable up to 1m during installation, allowing the cluster to be set at different heights to suit the ceiling height and the surface below. Once installed the cables are fixed at the chosen lengths.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?
