Description

The Lunara is a 400mm round wall light built around a hand-cut Spanish alabaster disc set against a circular brushed brass backplate. The alabaster sits proud of the brass plate on four small brass pegs, leaving a shallow gap that allows light to spill around the edge of the stone as well as through it. A single G9 lamp socket sits behind the alabaster, lighting the stone from within.

Designed as a wall-mounted ambient and accent light, the Lunara suits bedrooms either side of a bed, hallway and corridor runs, living rooms flanking a fireplace or artwork, and softly-lit dining spaces. The 150mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrower hallways while still giving the alabaster depth against the brass disc behind it. Hard-wired installation onto a standard wall back box.

Each alabaster disc shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Lunara wall lights look identical when lit. The brushed brass backplate is finished to a low-sheen warm gold that picks up reflected light from the alabaster without adding glare. The combined alabaster and solid metal give the fitting a substantial physical presence on the wall without protruding aggressively into the room.
