Lori 5 Light E27 Round Pendant Light 45cm Smoke - Polished Chrome

Five slender drops fall from a single round ceiling plate in polished chrome, each finished with a smoke shade in the wine shape, narrow at the neck and flaring gently at the mouth. The plate measures 45cm across, so the fitting reads as a gathered cluster rather than a straight run, and every drop can be set at its own height, from a short hang tucked up near the ceiling to something much lower. Each shade takes an E27 lamp.

We would hang it over a round dining table or a kitchen island, where a circle of light sits better on the top than a linear bar does. Staggering the drops also suits a hallway with height to play with, or a landing that is seen from below as well as from the floor above. With suitable lamps and a dimmer fitted it will dim, which is worth planning for if the room doubles as somewhere to eat and somewhere to sit afterwards. We tend to reach for clear filament LED lamps here, so the smoke tint stays legible against the light.

The metalwork is polished to a bright mirror and the smoke tint runs consistently across the shades, so the fitting holds one tone whether it is lit or switched off. Chrome shows fingermarks more readily than most finishes, so a soft cloth over the plate and the flex heads now and then keeps it looking crisp, while the shades want nothing more than dusting, done with the power off and the lamps cold. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included. How far down does it hang?

The drop is adjustable between 270mm and 2270mm, so it can sit close under the ceiling or hang low over a table. Each of the five flexes can be set independently if you want a staggered arrangement.

What lamps does it take, and what is the maximum wattage?

It takes five E27 lamps, rated to a maximum of 20W each. Lamps are not supplied, so choose them alongside the fitting.

Can I dim it?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and pair them with a compatible dimmer. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How wide is the ceiling plate?

The round plate is 450mm in diameter, with the five drops arranged within that circle, which is why it suits a round or square table better than a long one.

How should I clean the chrome?

Switch off at the wall and let everything cool, then wipe the plate and flex heads with a soft dry cloth. A barely damp cloth lifts marks, followed by an immediate buff dry so the polished finish does not spot.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which makes it right for dry rooms such as dining rooms, kitchens, hallways and stairwells rather than bathrooms or covered outdoor areas.
