The Kristy is a five light chandelier finished in distressed gold, with cased opal glass shades that soften the light as it spreads across a room. It is a generous fitting, wide across and open in form, holding five arms that each carry a rounded glass shade. The gently worn gold tone gives it a lived-in warmth, so it reads as characterful rather than showy, and the opal glass keeps the glow even and comfortable to sit beneath.

This is a piece for rooms with a little height and space to fill. It works well over a dining table, where the spread of light suits gathering and conversation, and it settles happily into a hallway, a landing or a large sitting room where you want a central focus. The adjustable drop means you can hang it high in a stairwell or bring it lower over a table, and the two pairs of supplied rods, along with the chain, let you set a height that fits the room. Because it hangs some distance from the ceiling, it is best in spaces where headroom allows.

The frame is made from steel with resin detailing, and the shades are cased opal glass. It takes five E27 lamps up to 40W each, which are not included, so you can pick a warm or cooler light to suit the setting; colour temperature depends on the bulb you choose.
