Description

The Knightsbridge OS0025B is a 360° PIR ceiling sensor with dual mounting options — it can be recessed into a 73mm ceiling cut-out or surface-mounted using the included surface box that projects 36mm below the ceiling. The sensor provides motion detection across an 8m radius in a full 360° field, suitable for rooms up to 64m² depending on ceiling height and layout.

Designed for residential hallways, bathrooms, utility rooms, commercial offices and retail back-of-house areas, the sensor switches lighting loads automatically when movement is detected. The adjustable lux control sets the ambient light threshold below which the sensor activates — useful for preventing lights switching on during daylight hours. The adjustable timer allows the light to remain on for between 10 seconds and 7 minutes after the last detected movement, giving flexibility between quick-response utility spaces and longer-dwell rooms.

The polycarbonate housing is finished in black and rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. The sensor handles switching loads up to 2000W for incandescent lighting or 1000W for LED loads, which is sufficient for multiple downlights or a central ceiling fitting. The Class II construction means no earth connection is required, simplifying installation. Pre-fitted ceiling springs in the recess fitting allow the sensor to clip into the ceiling void without needing separate fixings.

Frequently Asked

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry indoor areas only, not bathrooms where moisture or spray might occur. For bathroom installation, an IP44 or higher rated sensor is needed.

What ceiling void depth is needed for recess mounting?

The recessed depth is 27.9mm, so a ceiling void of at least 30mm is required to accommodate the sensor body and wiring. Surface mounting with the included box requires no ceiling void.

What does the lux control do?

The lux control sets the ambient light threshold below which the sensor will activate. Set high, the sensor only operates in darkness. Set low, it will switch lights on even in daylight when movement is detected.

What load can it switch?

The sensor handles up to 2000W for incandescent loads or 1000W for LED loads. This is sufficient for multiple LED downlights or a central ceiling fitting, but check the total wattage of the circuit being controlled.
