Description
The Knightsbridge FLPA150 is a 150W LED floodlight delivering 14,590 lumens of 4000K cool white light through an IP65-rated die-cast aluminium housing finished in anthracite. The integrated SMD LED array sits behind a clear polycarbonate diffuser with a 105-degree beam angle, casting wide-area illumination suitable for security lighting, building facades, driveways, car parks and commercial yards.
Designed for permanent outdoor installation, the IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making the floodlight suitable for exposed positions on external walls, gable ends, eaves and boundary walls. The internal terminal block on the rear accepts direct mains wiring without needing an external junction box, and the fitting is compatible with LED-rated external sensors where PIR control is required.
The die-cast aluminium construction provides durability and heat dissipation for the LED array, with the anthracite powder-coat finish resisting UV degradation and weather corrosion. At 360mm wide and 237mm tall, the floodlight projects 200mm from the wall when mounted on the included bracket, which allows angle adjustment to direct the beam where needed. The 150W power draw and 84.72 lumens-per-watt efficacy balance high output with running cost, while the L70B50 rating of 54,000 hours indicates long service life before output drops below 70% of initial lumens.

Frequently Asked
What area does the 150W floodlight cover?
The 105-degree beam angle and 14,590 lumen output suit areas of approximately 50-100 square metres depending on mounting height and required lux levels. For security lighting on a typical two-storey house, one floodlight covers a driveway or rear garden area. For commercial yards or car parks, multiple units are typically spaced 8-12m apart.
Can it be used with a PIR sensor?
Yes. The floodlight is compatible with LED-rated external PIR sensors. The sensor must be rated for the 150W load and installed between the mains supply and the floodlight's internal terminal block. Ensure the sensor is specifically rated for LED loads, as some older PIR units designed for halogen floodlights may not switch LED loads reliably.
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the floodlight is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. It can be mounted in fully exposed positions on external walls, eaves, gable ends and boundary walls where rain, wind-driven moisture and dust are present. It is not rated for submersion.
How long does the LED last?
The L70B50 rating of 54,000 hours means that after 54,000 hours of operation, at least 50% of a batch of these floodlights will still produce at least 70% of their initial light output. At 10 hours per day usage, this equates to approximately 14-15 years before significant lumen depreciation occurs.
