Description

Small, round and quietly practical, this outdoor wall light has a face of only 70mm, so it reads as a neat disc of light on a wall rather than a fitting you notice first. The rust brown finish is earthy and slightly weathered in tone, and it settles well against brick, render and timber. It takes a single GU10 lamp of up to 10W, and an LED reflector is what we would put in it. There is no switch on the body and it is not dimmable, so it works from the switching already serving the area.

Outdoors it earns its keep in the tight spots: beside a back door, along a passage at the side of the house, either side of a garage entrance, or spaced out down a courtyard wall. The body is sealed against dust and splashing rain, so an exposed elevation and a wet autumn are no trouble. We reach for it where a lantern or a bulkhead would look too bulky, and where the point of the light is the wash on the wall rather than the fitting itself. It suits anyone lighting a route rather than a whole garden.

The form is a plain round housing with a flat front, and the finish runs right over the edges so there is nothing bright to catch the eye. Give it a wipe with a damp cloth each season and dry it off; grit and salt in the air will dull any outdoor finish left to sit. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the round shape and a square version, in anthracite, sand white and sand black as well as this rust brown, so a run of doors and gates can match. Lamps are not included.
