Description

Rust brown gives this compact outdoor wall light a weathered, earthy tone that sits quietly against brick, render or timber cladding. The square body measures 70mm across the face and stands off the wall by 95mm, so it reads as a neat block instead of a lantern. It takes a GU10 reflector lamp of up to 10W, and it is not dimmable, so output stays constant whenever the circuit is live.

We would fit this beside a back door, along a side passage, or in a pair either side of a porch, where light is wanted at head height without a bulky fitting crowding the wall. It is sealed against rain and windblown dust, so an exposed elevation suits it as well as a sheltered one. There is no switch on the body, which keeps the shape clean and leaves control to the indoor switch you already use. The small footprint earns its place in flats, terraces and courtyards where the wall beside a door is short of room.

The rust brown finish is matt and low key, the sort of colour that ages into a wall rather than fighting it, and it hides rain marks better than a gloss would. Give the body a wipe with a damp cloth while the lamp is cold, dry it off afterwards, and after a windy spell check that grit and leaves have not gathered on the top edge. It carries a two year warranty. We stock this square shape in anthracite, sand white and sand black as well, with round versions across the same finishes for doors and gateposts where a softer outline works better.
