Description

A short round body in anthracite, sitting tight against the ceiling and sending its light straight down. The diameter is 90mm and the depth is much the same, so it reads as a small disc rather than something you notice from the doorway. Behind the front opening is a GU10 socket, and we would put an LED reflector lamp of 50mm in it. There is no dimming, so it comes on at full output from the switch.

It is sealed against dust and splashes, which makes it a sensible choice for a shower room ceiling, a utility, a downstairs loo or a covered porch where a little weather blows in. The narrow body suits rooms with low ceilings and awkward headroom, and a short run along a hallway gives even, quiet light without a pendant hanging in the way. We like it over a back door, where it picks out the step and the lock without shouting about it. It suits anyone who wants light held close to the surface in a small room.

The anthracite finish is dark enough to sit back against a white ceiling, and it holds its own on timber or painted boarding too. To keep it clean, switch off, let the lamp go cold, then wipe the outer face with a barely damp cloth and dry it off; keep the front opening free of fluff so nothing bakes on. The maximum lamp rating is 10W, and it carries a two year warranty. The wider range runs to round and square wall lights, in this same anthracite and in sand white, sand black and rust brown, so ceiling and wall fittings can be matched either side of a doorway. Lamps are not included.
