Description

A short round barrel in anthracite, this is a compact ceiling light that sends its light straight down through the open face. It measures 60mm across and stands 105mm tall, so from below it reads as a small dark circle that leaves a plain ceiling plain. A GU10 lamp does the work, giving a tight, directed pool rather than a general glow.

We use these where a hallway, landing or small cloakroom needs light without anything hanging into head height, and they group well in a line above a worktop or along a corridor. The body is sealed against dust and splashing water, so a bathroom, a utility room or the underside of a porch roof are all fair game. There is no dimming here; a standard switch is all it asks for, which keeps things simple in a room where the light is either on or off.

The anthracite carries right around the body, so the fitting stays discreet whether it is seen against white paint or a darker ceiling. For cleaning, turn the power off first, then take the dust off with a dry cloth and lift any marks with a cloth wrung out in warm water, drying it straight after. Solvents and abrasive creams are best kept away from the finish. It carries a two year warranty. Lamps are not included, and we would choose an LED reflector to suit. The wider Kandanchu range runs to round and square wall lights, offered in this same anthracite as well as sand white, sand black and rust brown, so a hallway ceiling and the wall lights beside a door can be kept of a piece.
