Description

Cordless, with nothing to plug in and no flex to route: a rechargeable battery sits inside, and the top of the lantern works as a touch dimmer, so a fingertip takes it from a low glow up to full output. The integrated LED gives a warm white light, soft rather than bright, which is what you want from something sitting at eye level on a table. The white body measures around 11cm across and stands 38cm tall on a slim stem, and a USB charging cable is supplied with it.

We reach for this one where there is no power point and never will be: the far end of a garden table, a set of decking steps, a balcony rail, a porch where guests arrive. It is rated for outdoor use, so a passing shower or a damp evening is no trouble, and it comes indoors just as happily for a windowsill, a bathroom shelf or a bedside through the winter.
