Description

The Knightsbridge OWALL02BK is an IP54-rated outdoor wall light with two GU10 fittings housed in a cylindrical 201 stainless steel body finished in matt black powder coat. One lamp directs light upwards, the other downwards, creating a dual-beam wash pattern on the wall surface. Clear diffusers at each end allow the full output of the GU10 bulbs to cast defined upward and downward light cones.

Designed for installation on external walls where weatherproofing and directed architectural lighting are both needed, the fitting suits porch entrances, patio areas, garden walls and commercial building façades. The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for covered outdoor positions but not fully exposed to direct rain or hose wash. The compact 170mm height and 60mm diameter keep the fitting visually unobtrusive on most wall surfaces.

The 201 stainless steel construction resists corrosion better than mild steel alternatives, while the matt black powder coat finish hides minor marks and pairs cleanly with black or dark grey cladding, render and brick. The fitting accepts any GU10 halogen or LED bulb up to 20W per socket (bulbs sold separately), with dimming capability dependent on the specific bulb chosen. The 96mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of most external door frames and window surrounds.

What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for covered outdoor positions such as porches, under eaves, or on walls sheltered by an overhang, but not for fully exposed areas subject to direct rain or pressure washing.

What GU10 bulbs should I use?

Any GU10 halogen or LED bulb up to 20W per socket will fit. For outdoor use, most users choose a warm white LED (2700K-3000K) between 4-7W for energy efficiency and long life. Bulbs are sold separately at Niori.

Is this dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb chosen. If you fit dimmable GU10 LED bulbs and connect the circuit to a compatible LED dimmer switch, the light output can be controlled. Halogen GU10 bulbs are inherently dimmable with standard trailing-edge dimmers.

How is it wired and mounted?

The fitting is Class I, requiring a mains earth connection. It mounts to a standard UK outdoor back box via a rear fixing plate. Cable entry is from the rear. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
