Description

The HDview IP 8MP 4-channel PoE NVR is a network video recorder that supports up to four IP cameras at 8MP (4K) resolution, with Power over Ethernet feeding both data and power to connected cameras over a single cable run. The unit ships with a pre-installed 4TB surveillance-grade hard drive and uses H.265 video compression to reduce storage requirements by approximately 50% compared to H.264 while maintaining image quality.

Designed for small commercial premises, domestic CCTV installations and light industrial sites needing continuous recording from four camera positions, the NVR handles simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing without dropping frames. Recording modes include continuous 24/7, scheduled (time-based), motion detection and intelligent event-triggered modes based on line crossing or perimeter intrusion detection. The HDMI output supports up to 4K resolution for direct monitor connection, and remote monitoring works via a mobile app over internet connection.

Each PoE port supports cable runs up to 250m between the NVR and camera, allowing installations where the recorder sits in a central server room or office while cameras cover outdoor or perimeter positions. USB backup allows footage to be exported to external drives for evidence transfer or archival. The metal chassis measures 436mm wide and fits a standard 19-inch rack or can sit on a shelf in a secure cabinet.

Intelligent detection features include line cross detection (triggers recording when an object crosses a defined line in the camera view) and perimeter intrusion detection (triggers when an object enters a defined zone). These reduce false alerts compared to simple motion detection and can be configured per camera through the NVR interface.

Frequently Asked

How many cameras can this NVR support?

The NVR has four PoE ports and supports up to four IP cameras simultaneously. Each camera can record at up to 8MP resolution. All four ports provide Power over Ethernet, so compatible cameras do not need separate power supplies.

What storage does the 4TB drive provide?

Storage duration depends on camera resolution, frame rate and recording mode. At 8MP continuous recording from four cameras using H.265 compression, the 4TB drive typically stores 7-14 days of footage. Motion-only recording extends this significantly.

Can I view footage remotely?

Yes. The NVR supports remote viewing via the HDview mobile app over an internet connection. The NVR must be connected to a router with internet access, and port forwarding or cloud relay may be required depending on network configuration.

What cameras are compatible?

The NVR works with IP cameras supporting ONVIF protocol and PoE (802.3af/at). HDview IP cameras are directly compatible, and most third-party ONVIF cameras will also work, though some advanced features may require HDview cameras to function fully.
