Description

The HDview IP 8-channel PoE NVR records up to 8MP resolution from PoE IP cameras, storing footage on a pre-installed 1TB surveillance-grade hard drive. H.265 video compression halves the storage requirement compared to H.264 at the same resolution, extending recording time and reducing bandwidth usage on playback. The NVR supports continuous, scheduled, motion-triggered and intelligent event recording modes.

Designed for small to medium commercial premises, home perimeter monitoring and multi-room residential setups, the NVR connects cameras over Ethernet cable runs up to 250m per channel, delivering both data and power via PoE. The 4K HDMI output connects to a monitor for local live view and playback. Remote access via mobile app allows live monitoring and archive review from iOS and Android devices when the NVR is connected to a local network with internet access.

Built-in intelligent detection includes line cross detection (triggering when an object crosses a defined boundary) and perimeter intrusion detection (triggering when movement enters a defined zone). These detection modes reduce false alerts compared to blanket motion detection and allow event-based recording rather than continuous operation. USB backup ports allow footage transfer to external drives for evidence archiving. The metal chassis measures 436mm wide, 81mm tall and 291mm deep, with rear-panel ventilation and front status LEDs.

Frequently Asked

What cameras are compatible with this NVR?

The NVR works with PoE IP cameras supporting H.265 or H.264 compression at resolutions up to 8MP. The cameras must support ONVIF protocol for full compatibility. HDview IP cameras are directly compatible; third-party ONVIF cameras typically work but may have reduced intelligent detection features.

How long does 1TB record for?

Recording duration depends on resolution, frame rate, compression and recording mode. At 8MP with H.265 compression and motion-triggered recording, 1TB typically stores 10-15 days across 8 channels. Continuous recording at the same settings stores approximately 5-7 days. Lower resolutions and reduced frame rates extend recording time significantly.

Can I add more storage later?

The NVR has a single internal SATA bay occupied by the pre-installed 1TB drive. The drive can be replaced with a larger surveillance-grade HDD (up to maximum capacity specified in the full manual). Standard desktop hard drives are not recommended for 24/7 operation.

What's the maximum cable run per camera?

PoE supports cable runs up to 250m per channel when using Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. Beyond 250m, signal degradation and power loss occur. For longer runs, use a PoE extender or switch between the NVR and camera.
