Description

The HDview IP 5MP dome camera records 2592 x 1944 pixel footage through a 2.8mm fixed lens that provides a 115° diagonal field of view. The camera housing contains both white LED and infrared LEDs, allowing it to illuminate scenes up to 30 metres in low light or complete darkness. A 1/2.8-inch image sensor captures detail in colour under white LED mode or monochrome under IR mode.

Designed for commercial and residential 24/7 surveillance, the camera mounts to walls or ceilings using the included bracket and connects via Power over Ethernet (PoE), running both data and power through a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. The built-in microphone and speaker enable two-way audio communication through the connected NVR or IP camera software. A microSD card slot accepts cards up to 128GB for local recording when network storage is unavailable.

The IP67-rated housing protects the camera against dust ingress and temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre deep, making it suitable for outdoor installation in exposed positions. The white polymer dome and base blend into light-coloured exterior walls and soffits. The 2.8mm lens is well-suited to monitoring driveways, building entrances, small car parks and garden areas where wide coverage is needed rather than long-distance identification.

Frequently Asked

Does the camera require a separate power supply?

No. The camera is PoE (Power over Ethernet) enabled, meaning it receives both power and data through a single network cable connected to a PoE switch or PoE injector. No separate power adapter is needed.

What's the difference between white LED and IR mode?

White LED mode illuminates the scene with visible white light, allowing the camera to record in colour at night. IR mode uses infrared LEDs invisible to the human eye, recording in monochrome. Both modes reach up to 30 metres. White LED mode can deter intruders but is more visible; IR mode is discreet.

Can the camera record without a network connection?

Yes, if a microSD card (up to 128GB, sold separately) is inserted into the card slot. The camera can record locally to the card when network storage is unavailable or as a backup to NVR recording.

What viewing distance does the 2.8mm lens suit?

The 2.8mm lens provides wide-angle coverage of approximately 115° diagonal, making it suitable for monitoring areas 5-15 metres from the camera. It captures broad coverage rather than distant detail, so it works well for driveways, building entrances and small car parks but is not ideal for long-distance facial identification.
