Description

The HDview IP 5MP bullet camera combines a 1/2.8-inch 5-megapixel image sensor with a fixed 2.8mm wide-angle lens, giving a 115° diagonal field of view suitable for monitoring driveways, building entrances, and perimeter zones where breadth of coverage matters more than facial-detail range. The camera captures video at 2592 x 1944 resolution and supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing both data and power to run on a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

Designed for 24/7 outdoor surveillance, the camera carries IP67 ingress protection against dust and water immersion, making it suitable for exposed UK weather. Two white LEDs on the front bezel provide visible deterrent lighting and colour night imaging up to 30m, while infrared illumination switches on in low light to maintain monochrome recording when the white LEDs are off. A built-in microphone and speaker enable two-way audio communication through compatible NVR systems or mobile apps.

The camera body measures 213mm in length with a diameter of approximately 104mm and weighs 521g without mounting hardware. The 2.8mm focal length is wider than typical 3.6mm or 4mm CCTV lenses, trading facial-recognition distance for broader coverage — useful for monitoring car parks, side passages, or front gardens where you need to see the full width of the area rather than zoom detail on a single point. A microSD card slot accepts cards up to 128GB for local recording independent of network connection.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between white LED and IR night vision?

The white LEDs provide visible light that allows the camera to record in colour at night and act as a deterrent — intruders can see the camera is active. Infrared (IR) provides invisible illumination for monochrome night recording when you want the camera to remain covert. The camera switches between modes based on ambient light levels.

How is the camera powered?

The camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning a single Cat5e or Cat6 network cable carries both data and power from a PoE switch or injector. No separate mains power supply is needed at the camera location.

What viewing distance does the 2.8mm lens cover?

The 2.8mm lens provides a wide 115° diagonal field of view, making it suitable for monitoring large areas like driveways or building facades. Facial recognition is realistic at distances up to approximately 5-7m; beyond that the camera captures movement and general activity rather than fine detail.

Can it record locally without a network video recorder?

Yes. The camera accepts a microSD card up to 128GB for local recording. This allows the camera to continue recording even if network connectivity to an NVR is lost, though playback and management are simpler when using a dedicated NVR or compatible software.
