Description

The HDview IP 5MP bullet camera combines a 1/2.8-inch CMOS image sensor with a 2.8mm fixed lens, delivering 2560 x 1920 resolution across a 115° diagonal field of view. The camera operates in full colour using white LED illumination, switching to infrared night vision with an effective range up to 30 metres when ambient light drops below operational thresholds.

Designed for outdoor perimeter monitoring, driveways, car parks and building entrances, the camera is housed in an IP67-rated enclosure that protects against dust ingress and temporary immersion. Power over Ethernet simplifies installation by delivering both power and network connectivity through a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable run. The built-in microphone and speaker enable two-way audio communication through compatible NVR systems or mobile apps, useful for gate entry systems or delivery acknowledgement.

The 2.8mm focal length provides wide-area coverage rather than telephoto identification, making the camera suitable for monitoring spaces where the entire area needs to be visible rather than zooming on distant detail. The camera accepts a microSD card up to 128GB for local recording as backup to NVR storage, and the grey powder-coated finish reduces visual contrast against rendered or painted building exteriors compared to white or black housings.

What's the difference between white LED and IR night vision?

The camera captures full-colour footage using white LED illumination in low light. When light levels drop further, it switches to infrared mode, which produces monochrome footage but extends the effective range to 30 metres. The mode switch happens automatically based on ambient conditions.

Does this camera require a separate NVR?

The camera can record directly to a microSD card up to 128GB for standalone operation, or connect to a network video recorder via PoE for centralised recording and monitoring. Two-way audio functionality requires either an NVR with audio support or access through a compatible mobile app.

What area does the 2.8mm lens cover?

The 2.8mm focal length provides a 115° diagonal viewing angle. At a mounting height of 3 metres, this covers approximately 10-12 metres width at ground level, making it suitable for driveways, building entrances and garden perimeters rather than long-distance identification.
