Description

The HDview HC828FBG is an 8MP IP bullet camera with a 2.8mm fixed lens delivering a 115-degree diagonal field of view. The camera combines infrared and white LED illumination with a range of up to 30 metres, allowing colour night vision when the white LEDs are active or traditional IR monochrome imaging when ambient light is insufficient. A 1/2.8-inch image sensor provides 8-megapixel resolution for clear daytime and night-time recording.

Designed for outdoor and perimeter security, the camera is housed in an IP67-rated grey metal enclosure that protects the sensor and lens assembly from dust and water ingress. The bullet form factor suits wall-mounting on building exteriors, under eaves, and on posts or poles where a fixed field of view is required. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support allows the camera to draw power and transmit data over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, simplifying installation where mains power is distant from the camera position.

The camera includes a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio communication, and supports a 128GB microSD card for local recording when network connectivity is lost or to supplement cloud or NVR storage. The 2.8mm lens provides a wide-angle view suited to monitoring driveways, front entrances, small courtyards and commercial entrances where coverage of a broad area is more important than detailed zoom on distant subjects. The grey finish blends with stone, concrete and neutral-toned building materials.

Frequently Asked

Does the camera require a separate power supply?

No. The camera supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), drawing both power and data over a single Cat5e or Cat6 network cable from a PoE switch or injector. Alternatively, a separate 12V DC power input is available if PoE is not used.

What's the difference between IR and white LED night vision?

IR (infrared) illumination provides monochrome night vision invisible to the human eye, while the white LED illumination provides colour night vision by lighting the scene with visible light. The camera can switch between modes or operate in IR-only mode depending on ambient light conditions and user settings.

Can the camera record locally without a network video recorder?

Yes. The camera supports a microSD card up to 128GB for local recording. This allows the camera to store footage independently or as a backup when network connectivity to an NVR or cloud service is interrupted.

Is the 2.8mm lens suitable for identifying faces at a distance?

The 2.8mm lens provides a wide 115-degree field of view designed to cover broad areas rather than distant detail. For identifying faces or vehicle registration plates at more than 5-7 metres, a longer focal length lens (6mm, 8mm or varifocal) would be more appropriate.
