Description

The HDview HC832R is a 32-channel network video recorder with 16 built-in Power over Ethernet ports and 4TB of pre-installed surveillance-grade storage. The NVR records IP camera feeds at resolutions up to 8MP (3840 x 2160) using H.265 video compression to reduce file sizes and extend storage capacity without compromising image quality.

Designed for commercial, retail and multi-site residential security installations, the NVR supports simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing across all 32 channels. The 16 PoE ports deliver both power and data to connected cameras over a single Ethernet cable, with support for cable runs up to 250m per channel. The remaining 16 channels accept non-PoE IP cameras connected via a network switch or existing LAN infrastructure.

Intelligent detection features include line cross detection and perimeter intrusion detection, which trigger recording or alerts when motion crosses user-defined boundaries rather than relying on basic pixel-change motion detection. The HDMI output supports up to 4K resolution for live monitoring on a connected screen, and the USB port allows footage to be backed up to external drives for evidence transfer or archiving. Recording modes include continuous, scheduled, motion-triggered and intelligent detection, configurable per channel.

Remote monitoring is handled via the HDview mobile app for iOS and Android, allowing live viewing and playback over internet connection from any location. The 4TB pre-installed hard drive provides approximately 20-30 days of continuous recording across 32 channels at 1080p resolution with H.265 compression, or longer when using motion-triggered or scheduled recording modes.

Frequently Asked

How many cameras can be connected via PoE?

The NVR has 16 built-in PoE ports that provide both power and data to connected cameras. The remaining 16 channels accept non-PoE IP cameras connected via a network switch or existing LAN infrastructure, requiring separate power supplies for those cameras.

What recording time does 4TB provide?

Recording time depends on resolution, frame rate and compression. At 1080p resolution across all 32 channels using H.265 compression and continuous recording, 4TB typically provides 20-30 days of storage. Motion-triggered or scheduled recording modes extend this significantly.

What is the maximum cable length per camera?

Each PoE channel supports cable runs up to 250m using standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. This is longer than the typical 100m limit for standard PoE switches due to the higher-power PoE implementation.

Can the NVR be accessed remotely?

Yes. The HDview mobile app for iOS and Android allows live viewing and playback over internet connection. Remote access requires the NVR to be connected to a router with internet access and appropriate port forwarding or P2P configuration as detailed in the manual.
