Description

The HDview 8MP 16-channel PoE NVR is a network video recorder with 16 Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports, a pre-installed 4TB surveillance-grade hard drive, and support for IP cameras recording up to 8-megapixel resolution. The unit handles power and data for each connected camera through a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable run of up to 250m per channel, removing the need for separate camera power supplies at each mounting location.

Designed for residential, small business and light commercial installations requiring continuous 24/7 surveillance recording, the NVR compresses video using H.265 codec to reduce file size and extend recording time on the 4TB drive. Built-in intelligent detection includes line-cross and perimeter intrusion alerts, which trigger recording and notifications when motion crosses a defined boundary rather than recording all motion indiscriminately. The HDMI output supports displays up to 4K resolution for live viewing and playback on a monitor or TV.

The recorder operates in continuous, scheduled, motion-detection or intelligent-detection record modes depending on the security requirements of each zone. Footage can be backed up to USB storage for evidence transfer or archiving. Remote monitoring is available through the companion mobile app, allowing live viewing and playback from smartphones and tablets over an internet connection. The unit sits in a 1U rack-mount chassis measuring 405mm wide and weighing 3.6kg net, suitable for rack installation or placement on a shelf in a secured cupboard or plant room.

Frequently Asked

How many cameras can this NVR support?

The unit has 16 PoE ports, supporting up to 16 IP cameras simultaneously. Each camera receives power and transmits data through a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable of up to 250m length per channel.

What resolution cameras can be used?

The NVR records cameras up to 8-megapixel resolution. Lower-resolution cameras (2MP, 4MP, 5MP) are also compatible, with the recorder adjusting storage usage based on the actual camera resolution and compression settings.

How long does 4TB record for?

Recording time depends on camera resolution, frame rate, compression codec and how many cameras are active. Using H.265 compression at 8MP resolution across 16 channels running 24/7, expect approximately 7-10 days of continuous recording before the drive overwrites the oldest footage.

Can footage be accessed remotely?

Yes. The companion mobile app allows live viewing and playback from smartphones and tablets over an internet connection. The NVR must be connected to a router with an active internet connection and configured for remote access following the steps in the product manual.
