Description

A plain circle in satin nickel, with a closed face and no central hole. At 23cm across it covers a generous area of ceiling, and its shallow depth keeps it close to the surface, so it reads as part of the ceiling rather than an object on it. Satin nickel is a quieter finish than polished chrome, a soft grey with a low sheen that sits happily with white paint, warm timber and older brass. It is non-electric: no lamp, no wiring of its own.

We keep this one for jobs where the ceiling needs tidying rather than lighting: a closed plate gives a clean, finished circle in rooms where the surface has seen a few changes over the years. It suits hallways, landings, bedrooms and kitchens equally well, and because the finish is neutral it can sit near a pendant, a flush fitting or nothing at all without pulling the eye. Anyone redecorating a room in stages tends to find it useful, since it settles the ceiling now and leaves the choice of light for later.
