A plain round disc in satin black, 23cm across and shallow in profile, this is the heavy duty Hayes plate with a solid face and no central hole. The satin finish sits between flat and glossy, so it reads as a soft dark circle rather than a bright one, and it holds its own against a white ceiling without pulling the eye upward. Nothing about it is fussy: a clean circumference, an even face, and enough substance to feel properly solid in the hand.
