Description

A shallow round disc of clear crystal sits in a polished silver frame, held close to the ceiling rather than dropped below it. The cut facets pick up the light from the LED behind them and scatter it across the ceiling as well as down into the room, so the fitting looks lively even when the light source itself is quiet and even. Colour is cool white at 4000K, crisp rather than mellow, and the driver is housed inside the body so nothing is on show beneath the trim. It does not dim.

We reach for this where a pendant would hang into the way: a hall with doors swinging close, a landing at the top of the stairs, a bedroom or study with a ceiling on the low side. The 36cm diameter covers a decent square of floor without dominating a small room, and the 18W draw keeps the light generous for the size. Cool white suits places where you want to see clearly, so it earns its keep in kitchens, utility rooms and dressing areas too. It is for dry rooms indoors; keep it clear of bathrooms and porches.

Construction is clear crystal set into a polished silver framework, bright enough that it plays off the facets around it. Cleaning: switch off at the wall, let it cool, then run a dry microfibre cloth over the crystal and buff out any smudges; nothing wet near the electrical parts.
