Description

The Gallier is a 635mm-tall table lamp built around a classical urn-shaped base cast in resin and finished in matt black with distressed gold accents on the rim, handles and foot. The base features twin scrolled handles in the Ionic style, with the gold finish deliberately aged to show darker bronze undertones and edge wear. A white fabric tapered drum shade sits on top, measuring 457mm at its widest point.

Designed for side tables, console tables and bedside use in traditionally styled interiors, the Gallier provides ambient light through the fabric shade while the urn base acts as a decorative anchor. The lamp fits an E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing you to choose between warm-white LED for soft ambient light or a higher-output bulb for reading. The 635mm height works on tables 600-750mm tall without the shade blocking sightlines across a room.

The cast resin construction keeps the base lighter than ceramic or metal alternatives while maintaining the detail of the scrollwork and the urn profile. The black and gold finish contrasts cleanly with light-coloured walls and pairs with both warm wood furniture and cooler grey or taupe upholstery. The cast resin and steel construction provides sufficient weight for stability on flat surfaces. The urn profile keeps the centre of gravity low, reducing the risk of tipping when the shade is bumped.

Can the shade be replaced?

The white fabric drum shade is a standard tapered design. If the shade becomes damaged or discoloured, replacement shades with a similar taper and E27 fitting collar can be sourced from lamp shade suppliers.

The distressed gold is a sealed finish over the resin. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes, which may strip the aged patina from the gold areas.
