Description

Gold, compact and upright, this is a lamp for the spots where surface space is short but light is still wanted. It stands 40cm tall on a narrow base, so it sits comfortably on a bedside table without crowding a book and a glass of water. The proportions are upright rather than sprawling, which helps on slim shelves and small cabinets. A G9 capsule does the lighting, and a toggle switch on the lamp itself means you can find it by feel in the dark rather than tracing the flex back to the socket.

Bedsides are the obvious home, though it works just as well on a hall table, at the end of a shelf run, or in a desk corner where a wider shade would be in the way. We would fit a warm white LED capsule of 10W or under, and we would buy a second for the other side of the bed, since a pair reads better than one lamp alone. Dimming is possible where a dimmable capsule and a compatible dimmer are used, neither of which comes with the lamp.

The gold finish carries the whole look, so treat it gently: an occasional pass with a soft dry cloth keeps it clear, while sprays and cream polishes will dull the shine. Wait until the lamp is switched off and cool before you go near it. It is double insulated and made for indoor rooms that stay dry, and it carries a one year warranty.
