Description

The Freida is a 50cm diameter crystal chandelier with six E14 bulb fittings inside a grey organza drum shade, suspended from a polished chrome canopy and chain. Crystal beads cascade from the chrome drum rim in vertical strands, terminating in slim hexagonal drops that hang below the shade edge. The organza fabric diffuses light from the six bulbs into a soft, even glow while the crystal catches and reflects the internal illumination.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and living spaces where diffused ambient light is needed, the Freida suits ceiling heights from 2.6m upwards. The adjustable drop ranges from 1040mm minimum to 2000mm maximum, allowing the chandelier to be set at 700-800mm above a dining table in standard-height rooms or lowered further in double-height spaces. The 500mm diameter fits comfortably above tables seating four to six people without overwhelming the space.

The grey organza shade provides a neutral backdrop that works across both cool-toned and warm-toned interiors, while the polished chrome frame adds reflective contrast against the fabric. Each of the six E14 fittings accepts bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament bulbs depending on the desired light temperature and energy consumption. The crystal strands are hand-strung and the hexagonal drops are individually wired, so assembly on-site involves hooking pre-wired strands onto the drum frame rather than threading individual beads.

Six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this chandelier with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to mimic traditional filament light through the organza shade.

Is the Freida dimmable?

Yes, provided dimmable bulbs are fitted. The chandelier itself is compatible with standard household dimmers, but the bulbs must be rated as dimmable. Non-dimmable LED bulbs will flicker or fail to dim correctly.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 1040mm suits ceiling heights from 2.6m upwards when hung above a dining table at the standard 700-800mm clearance. Lower ceilings may still accommodate the Freida if the chain is shortened during installation, though the minimum drop cannot go below the fixed internal wiring run.

How is the crystal attached?

The crystal beads are pre-strung onto wire strands that hook onto the chrome drum frame during assembly. The hexagonal drops at the base of each strand are individually wired. Assembly involves hooking the pre-wired strands rather than threading individual beads, making installation quicker than fully loose-bead designs.
