Description

A compact adjustable head for three circuit track, this one puts a tight, controlled pool of light exactly where you point it. Its integrated LED runs at 3000K, a warm white that sits happily with wood, brick and warmer paint colours, and the 20W draw gives it real punch at domestic ceiling heights. The narrow beam is the point: light stays on what you are lighting rather than spilling across the room. It is not a dimming fitting, so it works straight from the switch.

We reach for heads like this where the job is aiming rather than filling. On a run of track above a kitchen island it drops clean light onto the worktop; along a chimney breast or a hallway it will pick out a picture, a mirror or a shelf of books without washing the wall around it. It suits open plan rooms that want several small pools rather than one broad glow, and it does the same work in shops, studios and small galleries.

The housing is finished in black, a quiet choice that reads as hardware rather than decoration and all but disappears against dark track. The driver is built in. To keep the finish even, give the body and front rim an occasional pass with a dry microfibre cloth with the lighting circuit switched off, and keep sprays away from the lens. It carries a five year warranty. We also stock this head in white, in a cooler white light and in a lower output for closer work, and black heads on black track stay the tidiest. The LED is integral, so there is no lamp to change.
