Description

The ESP Powerline Adapter Kit contains two 100Mbps powerline network adapters that extend your home or office network through existing mains wiring, eliminating the need to run new Ethernet cables between rooms. Each adapter has a single RJ45 Ethernet port on the base and plugs directly into a standard UK 3-pin socket.

Designed for homes and small offices where Wi-Fi signal is weak or unreliable in certain rooms, the kit allows you to establish a wired network connection in any room with mains power. One adapter plugs in near your router and connects via Ethernet cable, while the second adapter plugs into a socket in the target room and provides a wired connection to a device such as a desktop PC, games console, smart TV or network-attached storage. The adapters communicate through the building's mains wiring at up to 100Mbps.

The plug-and-play installation requires no software or configuration in most cases — the two adapters pair automatically when both are plugged in and connected. Each adapter measures 140mm high and projects approximately 65mm from the wall when fitted, with a perforated ventilation panel on one side and three status LEDs on the front indicating power, powerline link status and Ethernet connection. The compact white housing sits flush against the wall and does not block adjacent sockets in a twin gang plate.

Frequently Asked

What speed does this powerline kit support?

The kit supports up to 100Mbps throughput through the mains wiring. Actual speeds depend on the quality and age of your building's electrical wiring, the distance between adapters, and electrical noise from other devices on the same circuit. In most residential settings expect 50-80Mbps sustained transfer rates.

Does it work on all mains circuits?

Powerline adapters work best when both units are on the same mains circuit and phase. They may not communicate across different phases in a three-phase supply or across certain types of surge protectors and extension leads. For best results plug both adapters directly into wall sockets rather than extension leads.

Can I add more adapters to extend the network further?

Additional ESP powerline adapters can be added to the same network if they use compatible powerline standards. Check the product datasheet or contact us to confirm compatibility before purchasing extra units.

What's included in the kit?

The kit includes two powerline adapters, two short Ethernet cables for connecting to your router and target device, and setup instructions. The adapters are pre-paired and ready to use out of the box.
