Description

The ESP HDview H512VDWA is a 5MP IP PoE dome camera with a 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens, built-in microphone and IR function up to 40 metres. The 1/2.7" image sensor captures 2560×1920 resolution at up to 20fps, and the motorised lens allows remote zoom and focus adjustment through the NVR or IP camera software without needing to physically access the camera after installation.

Designed for outdoor commercial, industrial and residential surveillance, the camera is housed in an IP67-rated white polycarbonate dome with IK10 impact resistance, meaning it can withstand direct water jets and impacts equivalent to a 5kg mass dropped from 40cm. The 40m IR range provides night vision in complete darkness, and the built-in microphone enables audio recording when paired with a compatible NVR. Power and data run over a single Ethernet cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE), reducing installation complexity.

The camera supports up to 256GB microSD card storage for local edge recording, and is compatible with ESP's 24/7 series NVRs for networked recording and multi-camera management. The white finish blends into light-coloured exterior walls and soffits, and the compact 137mm dome diameter suits installations where a lower-profile camera is preferred over traditional bullet housings. The varifocal lens adjusts from wide-angle 2.8mm (approximately 100° horizontal field of view) to narrow 12mm (approximately 30° horizontal field of view), allowing a single camera model to cover different surveillance scenarios from wide-area monitoring to detail capture at distance.

Frequently Asked

What does the motorised varifocal lens do?

The lens adjusts remotely between 2.8mm (wide-angle, approximately 100° horizontal view) and 12mm (narrow, approximately 30° horizontal view). This allows you to zoom and focus the camera through the NVR or IP camera software after installation, without needing to open the housing and manually adjust the lens.

What is the difference between IP67 and IK10 ratings?

IP67 means the camera is protected against water immersion and direct jets, so it can be installed outdoors in wet conditions. IK10 means the housing can withstand impacts equivalent to a 5kg mass dropped from 40cm, providing protection against vandalism and accidental knocks.

Does this camera require a separate power supply?

No. The camera uses Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning both data and power run over a single Ethernet cable connected to a PoE-enabled switch or NVR. A separate power adapter is not needed.

Can the camera record locally without an NVR?

Yes. The camera supports microSD cards up to 256GB for edge recording. This allows the camera to record locally if network connectivity is lost or if you're using it as a standalone camera without a networked video recorder.
