Description

The ESP CPS9W is a 9-way 12V DC power supply unit delivering 5A total output across nine individually fused and protected outputs, designed for multi-camera CCTV installations. The unit accepts universal 100-240V AC input at 50/60Hz and converts it to filtered and electronically regulated 12V DC, with each output protected against short circuit and thermal overload.

Housed in a lockable metal enclosure measuring 322mm wide by 322mm high by 86mm deep, the CPS9W wall-mounts in plant rooms, control cupboards, or above false ceilings where mains power is available. The nine outputs terminate on clearly labelled screw terminals, allowing up to nine separate camera feeds to be powered from a single mains connection. AC input and DC output LED indicators on the front panel confirm power status without opening the enclosure.

Each of the nine outputs is individually fused, so a short circuit on one camera does not affect the remaining eight. The filtered and regulated output maintains stable 12V DC even when mains voltage fluctuates within the 100-240V range, preventing camera image flicker or dropout caused by power instability. The metal enclosure provides earthing continuity and some degree of physical protection for the internal PSU and terminal blocks.

What's the total current output across all nine ways?

The CPS9W delivers a total of 5A at 12V DC across all nine outputs combined. Each individual output is fused, but the 5A total is shared between all connected cameras. If you connect nine cameras each drawing 500mA, you reach the 4.5A combined draw, leaving 500mA headroom.

Can it be used with cameras rated at 24V DC?

No. The output is fixed at 12V DC. Connecting 24V-rated equipment will result in underpowering and the equipment will not function correctly. Use a 24V-rated PSU for 24V cameras.

What happens if one camera short-circuits?

Each of the nine outputs has individual fuse protection. If one output short-circuits, that output's fuse will blow, disconnecting that camera while the remaining eight outputs continue to function normally.

Does the enclosure lock?

Yes. The metal enclosure door has a key lock, visible in the image on the left-hand edge of the open door. This prevents tampering with the wiring and terminal connections once the installation is complete.
