Description

The ESP H512VBG is a 5MP PoE bullet camera with a 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens, allowing remote adjustment of the field of view without physically accessing the camera. The lens uses a 1/2.7" image sensor to capture 2592 x 1944 resolution at up to 20fps, and infrared LEDs provide night vision up to 40 metres in complete darkness.

Designed for outdoor installation on residential and commercial properties, the camera carries IP67 ingress protection against rain, dust and moisture. Power and data run over a single PoE ethernet cable, removing the need for separate mains wiring at the camera location. The motorised varifocal lens can be adjusted remotely from the NVR or viewing software to zoom between wide-angle coverage (2.8mm) and tighter framing (12mm), making it suitable for monitoring driveways, side passages, car parks and building perimeters where the camera-to-subject distance varies.

The built-in microphone adds audio recording to the video feed when paired with a compatible NVR, and the camera supports local recording to a microSD card up to 256GB as backup storage. The grey metal housing measures 234mm in length with a 114mm diameter, and the adjustable mounting bracket allows wall or soffit installation with manual tilt and rotation adjustment during setup. Compatible with ESP's 24/7 series NVRs and most third-party PoE recorders supporting ONVIF protocol.

Frequently Asked

What does the motorised varifocal lens do?

The 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens allows you to adjust the camera's field of view remotely from the NVR or viewing software, without needing to access the camera physically. At 2.8mm the lens provides a wide-angle view suitable for monitoring larger areas; at 12mm it zooms in to capture detail at longer distances.

Does it need separate power or just PoE?

The camera is powered entirely over PoE (Power over Ethernet). A single ethernet cable connected to a PoE switch or PoE NVR provides both power and data, so no separate mains supply is needed at the camera location.

What's the night vision range?

The infrared LEDs provide visibility up to 40 metres in complete darkness. Actual range depends on ambient conditions, surface reflectivity and lens zoom setting — at 12mm (zoomed in) the effective IR range is shorter than at 2.8mm (wide angle).

Is it compatible with non-ESP recorders?

Yes. The camera supports ONVIF protocol, making it compatible with most third-party PoE NVRs and video management software that support ONVIF Profile S or Profile T devices.
