Description
The ESP H512VBW is a 5MP IP bullet camera with a 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens, allowing remote adjustment of the field of view without needing to access the camera physically. The camera uses a 1/2.7-inch image sensor to capture 2560 x 1920 resolution video, and delivers both power and data over a single Ethernet cable via PoE (Power over Ethernet), eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the camera location.
Designed for outdoor perimeter surveillance, driveway monitoring and property boundary coverage, the camera combines 40m infrared night vision with an IP67-rated housing that protects against rain, dust and impact. The motorised varifocal lens can be adjusted remotely through compatible NVR software or browser interface, making it practical for installations where the optimal viewing angle needs to be refined after the camera is mounted. The built-in microphone adds audio recording capability when paired with a compatible NVR.
The white polymer housing measures 234mm in length with a 114mm width and 102mm height, giving the camera a visible deterrent presence on wall or soffit mounts. The IP67 rating confirms the housing is fully sealed against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1m depth, making it suitable for UK outdoor use year-round. The camera supports local recording to a MicroSD card up to 256GB as a backup or standalone recording option when network connectivity is interrupted.
The H512VBW is compatible with ESP's 24/7 series NVRs and most third-party NVRs supporting ONVIF protocol. The PoE connection uses a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable, with power supplied by a PoE switch or PoE injector (not included). The 40m IR range uses array-style infrared LEDs that provide wide-angle illumination without creating a central hotspot, giving more even night vision coverage across the frame.

Frequently Asked
What does the motorised varifocal lens do?
The 2.8-12mm motorised varifocal lens allows you to adjust the field of view remotely through the NVR or browser interface, zooming between a wide-angle view and a more focused telephoto view without physically accessing the camera. This is useful when fine-tuning coverage after installation.
Does the camera require a separate power supply?
No. The camera uses PoE (Power over Ethernet), receiving both power and data through a single Ethernet cable. You will need a PoE switch or PoE injector to supply power, but no separate mains power connection is required at the camera location.
What is the night vision range?
The infrared LEDs provide illumination up to 40m in complete darkness. The effective range depends on ambient light levels and the reflectivity of surfaces in the scene, but typical outdoor installations achieve clear monochrome night vision across 25-35m in most conditions.
Is the camera weatherproof?
Yes. The IP67 rating confirms the housing is fully sealed against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1m depth. It is suitable for outdoor use in rain, snow and UK coastal environments.
