Description

The Empire is a 122cm linear crystal chandelier with fourteen G9 bulb positions arranged along a polished chrome rectangular frame. Layered rows of precision-cut crystal strands hang from the frame, creating a curtain of refracted light that extends the full 122cm length. Each G9 bulb (sold separately, up to 33W each) illuminates the crystal layers from within, turning the entire fixture into a distributed light source rather than relying on single-point downlight.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and commercial hospitality spaces where linear illumination is needed, the Empire suits tables between 1.8-2.4m in length and works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The drop is adjustable between 780mm minimum and 1780mm maximum during installation, allowing the fixture to be set 700-800mm above a dining surface or 900-1000mm above a kitchen worktop depending on ceiling height. The 510mm width keeps the fixture visually contained above a table without overwhelming the space.

The polished chrome frame gives a mirror-bright reflective finish that amplifies the crystal's refraction and suits both contemporary and classical interiors. The crystal strands are arranged in multiple rows around the rectangular perimeter, with additional crystal droplets along the lower edge creating a beaded fringe. At 26.9kg the fixture requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or reinforced mounting point, this is not suitable for plasterboard-only ceilings without additional support. The fourteen-bulb configuration provides more uniform light distribution than single-pendant alternatives, reducing shadows along a long table.

What table length does this suit?

The 122cm fixture suits dining tables between 1.8-2.4m in length. For shorter tables the fixture may overhang the table edge; for longer tables (2.6m+) consider two smaller pendants or a fixture with greater length to maintain visual proportion.

What bulbs are recommended?

The fixture takes fourteen G9 bulbs (sold separately), each up to 33W. Most installations pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K warm white for ambient dining light. Dimmable G9 LEDs are required if fitting to a dimmer circuit.

Can a standard ceiling rose support the weight?

No. At 26.9kg the Empire requires fixing into a ceiling joist or a reinforced mounting point designed to carry structural loads. A standard plasterboard ceiling rose without additional support is not sufficient. Professional installation is recommended.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully before cleaning. Use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe each crystal strand individually. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fixture or allowing moisture to reach the bulb sockets or wiring. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on the crystal or chrome.
