Empire 12 Light Crystal Chandelier 85cm - Polished Chrome

The Empire is an 85cm diameter crystal chandelier built on a circular polished chrome frame dressed with concentric layers of clear crystal beads and spheres. Twelve G9 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately) sit within the crystal layers, each casting light through and across the surrounding crystal elements to create multidirectional reflection and refraction.

Designed for dining rooms, double-height entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Empire works as a central statement piece over dining tables up to 2.4m long or in the centre of a 4m x 5m room. The drop is adjustable between 690mm minimum and 1630mm maximum on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table surface or lower in rooms with higher ceilings. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable runs through the adjustable suspension rods.

Each crystal bead is individually strung on a chrome wire frame, creating a continuous curtain of faceted glass around the full 850mm diameter. The polished chrome finish reflects ambient room light and amplifies the sparkle from the crystal layers when the chandelier is lit. At 18.9kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or reinforced ceiling rose — the substantial weight comes from the density of crystal beads rather than the metal frame. The chrome remains fingerprint-resistant once installed and the crystal can be wiped clean with a dry microfibre cloth.

Is the Empire dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the chandelier with a compatible dimmer switch. The chandelier itself contains no electronics — dimming depends entirely on the bulb type and the dimmer installed on your lighting circuit.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Empire takes 12 x G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining room lighting, or cool-white 4000K for brighter task lighting in kitchens or hallways.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 690mm to 1630mm. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Higher ceilings can accommodate the full 1630mm drop for a more dramatic vertical presence in entrance halls or double-height spaces.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Turn off the power and allow the bulbs to cool fully. Wipe each crystal bead with a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the chrome frame or using household sprays, which can leave residue and dull the crystal over time.
