Five clear glass shades sit close to the ceiling on an antique brass frame, spread across a broad circle so the light falls evenly rather than in a single pool. The glass is clear throughout, so the G9 capsules stay visible and add small bright points alongside the general wash. At 52.5cm across it reads as a large fitting, though it sits shallow and keeps well clear of head height.

We reach for this where a pendant would hang too low: a hallway with a modest ceiling, a landing, a bedroom above the bed, or a kitchen where anything on a drop would be in the way. It works over a dining table as well, sitting flat above it rather than crowding the setting. Fit dimmable capsules and pair them with a compatible dimmer and you can take it from a working brightness down to something quieter in the evening. We stock it in antique brass and in polished chrome, so it can follow whatever tap or handle finish the room already has.

The frame is metal in an antique brass finish, warm and slightly aged in tone, with clear glass shades. For cleaning, switch off at the wall and let the glass cool, then take dust off with a dry duster and bring the shades back with a little glass cleaner on a cloth rather than sprayed at the fitting. It carries a one year warranty. The same design continues through the range as wall lights, both single and paired, along with a table lamp and a floor lamp, so a whole room can be worked up in one look, and the ceiling light itself is also made with fewer lamps if you want something less busy on a smaller landing. Lamps are not included.

What lamps does it take?

It takes five G9 capsules, rated up to 10W each. We would fit LED capsules here, and they are supplied separately.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 capsules and a dimmer suited to LED loads. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How much space does it need?

It measures 525mm in diameter and stands 180mm deep, so allow a clear circle of a little over half a metre on the ceiling.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which makes it right for dry rooms such as hallways, landings, bedrooms and kitchens away from splashes.

How do I clean the glass?

Turn the light off and let it cool. Dust with a dry cloth, then wipe the clear glass with a barely damp cloth or a little glass cleaner applied to the cloth, not to the fitting.

Does it come in another finish?

Yes, the same ceiling light is made in polished chrome as well as antique brass.
