Description

The Duceri EMTS is a key-operated emergency lighting test switch that allows mandatory periodic testing of emergency lighting systems without needing to isolate mains power. The switch provides four selectable test durations — 10, 30, 60 and 180 minutes — selected by turning a central key switch, with LED indicators showing the active test period and power status.

Designed for commercial buildings, schools, hotels and other premises where emergency lighting requires regular functional testing under UK building regulations, the switch fits a standard UK back box and connects to the central battery or distributed emergency lighting control system. Turning the key initiates the test cycle, simulating a mains power failure for the selected duration while allowing the building to remain occupied and operational. The five LED indicators confirm which test period is active and whether the system is powered.

The white thermoplastic faceplate measures 93mm wide by 90mm high and sits flush with the wall once fitted. The key switch uses a replaceable barrel lock mechanism, with the key removable in the off position to prevent unauthorised testing. The 0.19kg unit projects approximately 58mm from the wall including back box depth, making it suitable for surface mounting in plant rooms, electrical cupboards and main distribution areas where emergency lighting circuits are accessible.

Frequently Asked

What test durations are available?

The Duceri EMTS provides four selectable test periods: 10, 30, 60 and 180 minutes. These are selected by rotating the key switch to the corresponding position marked on the faceplate.

Does it require mains power isolation to test emergency lights?

No. The switch simulates a mains failure electronically, allowing emergency lighting to be tested while the building remains powered and operational. This is the primary advantage over physically isolating the mains circuit.

What back box depth is needed?

The switch fits a standard UK 25mm minimum back box. The total projection from the wall including the switch body is approximately 58mm once installed.

Can the key be removed during a test?

The key can only be removed when the switch is in the off position. During an active test cycle the key must remain inserted and turned to the selected test duration position.
