Description

The arm on this one curves up and over, carrying the lamp holder forward of the base so the light lands ahead of you rather than behind. Satin nickel runs along the column and the arm, with black at the foot and the holder, and the whole thing is slim enough to slot in beside furniture. It arrives without a shade and takes an E27 lamp, with a foot switch on the flex so you can turn it on and off without stooping. We keep the frame in three finishes.

We reach for this where a table lamp has nowhere to sit: over the end of a sofa, beside a wing chair, or in a bedroom corner where the arm can lean in across the seat. It stands 1.6m tall, which puts the head at a sensible height for reading, and the curve lets the base sit behind or to one side, clear of feet and legs. Wattage tops out at 20W, so an LED lamp is the natural choice, and it will dim if you pair a dimmable lamp with a compatible dimmer.

Double insulated for safety, with the satin nickel carried along the column and arm and black at the foot. A dry cloth over the arm and column now and then keeps the finish looking right, and give a hot lamp a few minutes before you change it. It belongs indoors and away from damp. It carries a one year warranty. Shallow cone shades made for the curved arm are sold separately in the range, in finishes from satin black and pewter through to beige stone, so you can keep things quiet or set the shade against the frame. Shade and lamp are both bought separately.
