Description

An upright stem with an arm that curves over at the top, so the light falls out in front of the base rather than straight down over it. It stands 1.6m tall, finished in antique brass with black, and carries an E27 lampholder at the end of the arm. A foot switch on the flex saves bending down to turn it on. It arrives without a shade, so that choice is yours and it sets the character of the finished piece. Fit a suitable lamp, add a dimmer, and it will dim.

We reach for this where a table lamp has nowhere to sit: behind an armchair, at the end of a sofa, or in a bedroom corner beside a low bed. The overhanging arm drops light over a reader's shoulder while the base sits back out of the walkway. Lamps up to 20W keep it gentle rather than glaring, which suits it to evening reading and to rooms where you want soft pools of light instead of overhead glare. It plugs into an ordinary socket and belongs in dry rooms indoors.

The stem and curved arm are finished in antique brass with black, and the build is double insulated. Keep it looking right by running a soft dry cloth over the arm now and then; antique finishes dislike polishes and sprays, so leave those in the cupboard. It carries a one year warranty. Shallow cone shades in the range come in a choice of widths and in finishes including antique brass, antique copper, bronze, pewter, beige stone and satin black, and we stock the same lamp body in satin black and in satin nickel with black.
