Description

A slim curved bar in satin black, this one carries three E27 lamp holders spread along its length. It is supplied as a frame only, and that is the point of it: the holders are bare, so the character of the light comes from whatever shades you hang on them, in glass, metal or fabric. At 812mm end to end it reads as a long, low line rather than a cluster. The bar is narrow, so it keeps a light footprint against the ceiling even at full length.

We reach for a linear frame like this over a dining table, a kitchen island or a long run of worktop, where a row of light does more useful work than a single fitting in the middle of the ceiling. It suits rooms with a long table best, where the light wants to follow the shape of what sits beneath it. The drop adjusts across a wide range, so it can hang low over a table or be shortened where there is traffic underneath. It will dim with suitable lamps and a matching dimmer, both chosen separately, which takes a dining room from working light down to something softer after a meal.

The satin finish has a low sheen that shows fingerprints far less than gloss, and a dry cloth run along the top of the bar is most of the upkeep. Let the lamps cool before you handle them or swap a shade. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock this curved frame in antique brass with black and in satin nickel with black, and there is a round version of it in the same finishes if a more compact arrangement suits the room better.
