Description

Five E27 lampholders sit along a gently curved round frame, spaced so each shade hangs clear of the next. The frame is 56cm across, and because the curve rises and falls the lamps sit at slightly varied heights, which reads softer over a long table than a straight bar. It arrives as a frame on its own, so the shades are yours to pick: glass, metal, fabric, whatever the room asks for. The finish is antique brass with black, warm rather than bright.

We would hang this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where a run of smaller shades gives better light across the surface than one big pendant. It suits open-plan kitchens and long sitting rooms, and it works just as well in a wide hallway where a single fitting would leave the ends dim. Each lampholder takes up to 20W, so choose LED lamps to match the shades you settle on. Dimming is possible with the right lamps and a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with it.

The antique brass has the softened, slightly darkened look of older hardware, and the black picks out the frame against a pale ceiling. Keep it looking well with an occasional pass of a dry cloth along the curve and around the lampholders, with the power off first; skip sprays and anything abrasive, which will dull the brass. Keep it to dry indoor rooms; a porch or bathroom needs a sealed fitting instead. It carries a one year warranty. The curved shape runs through the rest of the range as round and linear pendants, in antique brass with black and in satin black, and we also stock small ceiling lights in finishes from pewter to polished chrome.
