Description

Curved arms sweep out from a round ceiling plate, each ending in an E27 lampholder set at its own point on the circle. The frame is 44cm across, so the three lampholders sit well apart and light spreads rather than pooling in a single bright patch. It comes as a bare frame, which is rather the point: shades are chosen separately, and the character of the fitting shifts completely depending on whether you hang glass, fabric or open cages from it. Satin nickel across the arms is set against black at the plate and the holders.

We would use it over a kitchen island or a dining table, where a lone pendant can look a little lost, and it earns its place equally well in a hallway or across a wide landing. The height is modest, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than dropping into the room, which helps where headroom is tight. Fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a compatible dimmer and the output comes right down for evenings; the dimmer itself is chosen separately.

The satin nickel has a soft sheen rather than a mirror shine, and the black picks out the holders against it. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, well away from bathroom steam. For cleaning, switch off at the wall, let everything go cold, then run a dry duster along the arms and around each holder. It carries a one year warranty. The same curved frame is made as a pendant in satin black and in antique brass with black, and the compact Dreifa ceiling fitting comes in finishes from pewter to polished chrome.
