Description
The Drawing Room is a 438mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light with two E27 bulb fittings housed within a pressed glass bowl, supported by a die-cast aluminium frame finished in walnut. The metalwork features overlapping arches that curve upward from the ceiling rose, meeting a fluted band that wraps the rim of the glass bowl, with additional scrollwork extending outward from each side of the frame.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a full pendant would hang too low, the semi-flush sits 343mm below the ceiling, providing ambient room lighting without encroaching into head clearance. The fixture suits hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms in period properties, and living rooms in homes with original or lower-than-standard ceiling heights. The two E27 bulbs sit within the frosted glass bowl, diffusing light evenly across the ceiling and down into the room.
The walnut finish on the aluminium frame provides a warm brown tone with subtle gold undertones showing through the worn edges of the metalwork, replicating the patina of aged wood and metal fittings found in Edwardian and early 20th-century British interiors. The pressed glass bowl carries a raised scroll pattern on its surface, adding texture when the light is off and soft shadowing when lit. The die-cast aluminium construction keeps the weight manageable for plasterboard ceiling fixings while providing rigidity to the curved arch structure.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to match the warm walnut finish.
What ceiling height is needed?
The semi-flush design sits 343mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower. In taller rooms it can still be used but a pendant fitting may provide better proportions.
Is the glass bowl frosted or clear?
The pressed glass bowl is frosted with a raised scroll pattern on the outer surface. This diffuses the light from the two bulbs and softens direct glare when the light is on.
How is the fitting cleaned?
The die-cast aluminium frame can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. The glass bowl can be removed by unscrewing the finial beneath it, washed in warm soapy water, dried, and refitted. Always switch off at the mains before cleaning.
