Description
The Draper is a 160cm floor lamp built from hundreds of individual amber glass beads strung vertically on fine cord, forming a cylindrical shade around two E27 bulb fittings. The beads cascade from a circular gold-finish metal canopy at the top to a matching base plate, with the lower third left as loose strands that create a fringe effect when lit. Light passes between and through the translucent amber beads, diffusing into warm scattered points across walls and ceiling.
Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways where ambient rather than task lighting is needed, the Draper works as accent lighting in corners, beside sofas, or flanking a sideboard. The 31cm diameter footprint keeps floor space clear while the 160cm height brings light up to head level when standing. The two E27 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately) allow layering of light output, and the rocker switch on the base cable controls both bulbs together.
Each Draper is hand-strung, so the exact spacing and drape of the beads varies slightly between individual lamps. The amber glass takes on different tones depending on the light source chosen — warm-white LEDs around 2700K emphasise the gold and honey tones, while cooler daylight LEDs push the beads towards bronze. At 24.85kg the lamp has substantial weight from the glass and metal frame, giving stability on carpet and hard floors without needing additional securing.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Draper has two E27 (Edison screw) bulb fittings. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with two 6-10W warm-white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K to emphasise the amber and gold tones in the glass beads.
Is the beading delicate?
The individual beads are glass and will break if struck hard, but the stringing is robust enough for normal household use. The lamp should be placed where it will not be knocked by foot traffic, pets, or vacuum cleaners. The lower fringe section is the most vulnerable to accidental contact.
How is it cleaned?
Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully before cleaning. Dust the beads gently with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth can be used on the glass beads, but avoid soaking the cord that holds the strands. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes.
Is a table lamp version available?
Yes. Libra Interiors produces a matching Draper beaded table lamp with the same amber glass bead construction in a smaller format. Use the search function to find it in stock at Niori.
