Description

The Knightsbridge Dipa is a single tilt recessed downlight in white die-cast aluminium, designed for low-glare directional lighting in residential, commercial and hospitality interiors. The fitting requires an 82mm cut-out and a 130mm minimum ceiling void, with a 93mm white bezel sitting 3mm proud of the ceiling surface once installed. The lamp holder tilts 25 degrees from centre, allowing the beam to be angled towards walls, artwork or architectural features.

Designed for GU10 bulbs up to 10W (sold separately), the Dipa pairs with Knightsbridge's own GU10 LED range or any standard GU10 bulb. The lamp holder drops down from the fitting body on installation, giving quick access for bulb changes without removing the bezel or disturbing the ceiling finish. The tool-free cable termination uses spring-loaded push-fit connectors with loop-in/loop-out capability, allowing multiple downlights to be daisy-chained during second fix without stripping cable or using terminal blocks.

The white powder-coated die-cast aluminium body provides IP20 ingress protection and carries Class II double-insulated construction, meaning no earth connection is required. The recessed lamp position and deep-set bezel create an anti-glare profile that keeps the light source visually shielded when viewed from typical standing and seated positions. The fitting is compatible with Knightsbridge's range of fire hoods where fire rating is required—check the specific fire hood technical data for size and rating compliance before specifying.

The Dipa takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED between 4-7W and 3000K-4000K depending on the room. Dimmable capability depends on the bulb—use a dimmable GU10 LED with a compatible dimmer switch.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 130mm void above the ceiling is required to accommodate the fitting body and lamp holder. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 39mm, with the 93mm bezel projecting 3mm below the ceiling surface.

Can the lamp angle be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The lamp holder tilts up to 25 degrees from centre, allowing the beam to be directed at walls, artwork or specific zones. The tilt is adjusted manually by angling the lamp holder within the bezel aperture.

Is a fire hood required?

Fire hoods are only required where building regulations specify fire-rated ceilings. The Dipa is compatible with Knightsbridge fire hoods, but you must check the specific fire hood technical data to confirm size compatibility and the fire rating it provides when paired with this downlight.
