Description

The Dipa is a 78mm square recessed downlight with a fixed GU10 lamp holder set in a black die-cast aluminium bezel. The deep-set lamp position and recessed black inner baffle reduce direct glare, directing light downwards while keeping the source hidden from normal sightlines. The fitting requires a minimum 130mm ceiling void depth and a 68 x 68mm cut-out.

Designed for residential living rooms, hallways, commercial office spaces and hospitality interiors, the Dipa suits applications where ceiling lighting needs to remain visually discrete. The fixed orientation works in spaces where directed light is not required, such as evenly-spaced ceiling grids for ambient illumination. The black finish recedes into dark ceiling planes and suits industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting structural rigidity and heat dissipation for continuous-run GU10 LED bulbs up to 10W (sold separately). The Knightsbridge tool-free cable termination system allows loop-in and loop-out wiring without screwdrivers, speeding second-fix installation. The drop-down lamp holder permits bulb changes without removing the bezel from the ceiling. The fitting carries an IP20 rating (suitable for dry indoor locations) and a 5-year warranty.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 130mm ceiling void is needed to accommodate the fitting body and lamp holder assembly. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 39mm, with the remaining clearance allowing for wiring and heat dissipation around the GU10 bulb.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The Dipa takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately). Most users fit a GU10 LED between 5-7W at 3000K for warm white residential lighting or 4000K for commercial spaces. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific GU10 bulb chosen.

Can the lamp be changed without removing the bezel?

Yes. The drop-down lamp holder allows the GU10 bulb to be accessed and changed from below the ceiling without removing the bezel or breaking the ceiling seal. Push the lamp holder downwards, twist out the old bulb, insert the new one, and push the holder back into position.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?
