Description

The Knightsbridge Dipa is a single fixed recessed downlight with a white die-cast aluminium bezel and an anti-glare baffle design. The fitting accepts a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) and requires a 68mm ceiling cut-out with a minimum 130mm void depth above the ceiling line. The fixed lamp holder sits at the base of a recessed baffle that reduces direct glare from the bulb when viewed at typical room angles.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality ceilings where discrete task or accent lighting is needed, the Dipa suits kitchen prep areas, hallways, bathroom zones (IP20 rated), commercial retail display shelves, and office corridors. The white finish blends into white or light-coloured ceilings, while the minimal 3mm projection from the ceiling surface keeps the visual interruption low. The tool-free termination system allows loop-in/loop-out wiring without needing to strip terminals, reducing second-fix installation time on multi-fitting runs.

The die-cast aluminium construction provides dimensional stability under operating temperature, and the Class II double-insulation removes the need for an earth connection to the fitting itself. The lamp holder drops down from the bezel for bulb changes without needing to remove the entire fitting from the ceiling. Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb chosen — Knightsbridge's own dimmable and SmartKnight GU10 LED range pairs directly with this fitting and supports colour temperature selection and app control where required.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 130mm void depth above the ceiling surface is needed to accommodate the fitting body and allow for heat dissipation. The 68mm cut-out diameter is the hole diameter required in the ceiling material itself.

Does it come with a GU10 bulb?

No. GU10 bulbs are sold separately. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 10W maximum. For dimmable operation, pair with a Knightsbridge dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible LED dimmer switch.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for bathroom zones outside the shower/bath enclosure (Zone 0 and Zone 1 require IP65 minimum). It can be used in Zone 2 or outside the zones in a typical domestic bathroom.

How is the bulb changed?

The lamp holder drops down from the bezel, allowing the GU10 bulb to be twisted out and replaced without removing the entire fitting from the ceiling. This saves time during routine maintenance on commercial installations with multiple fittings.
