Description

The Dipa is a single-lamp fixed recessed downlight with a 78mm diameter black die-cast aluminium bezel and a deep-set anti-glare baffle. The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately) rated up to 10W, and the lamp holder drops down from the body for tool-free bulb changes without disturbing the ceiling trim.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality spaces that need discrete low-glare accent or task lighting, the Dipa fits a 68mm ceiling cut-out and requires a minimum 130mm void above the ceiling. The fixed lamp position directs light straight down, making it suitable for general downlighting in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (IP20 zones only), retail displays and hotel corridors. The tool-free cable termination with loop-in/loop-out function speeds up installation when multiple fittings are being daisy-chained on a single circuit.

The black finish on the bezel and baffle gives a contemporary accent that recedes into dark ceilings or provides contrast against white plasterboard. The die-cast aluminium construction is Class II double-insulated, so no earth connection is required. The fitting is compatible with Knightsbridge's range of fire hoods for installations where ceiling fire rating must be maintained — check the specific fire hood model for cut-out and depth compatibility before ordering.

What GU10 bulb should I use?

The Dipa accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 10W. Most installations use a warm white (2700K-3000K) LED GU10 between 5-7W for general lighting. Knightsbridge's own GU10 range includes dimmable, non-dimmable and SmartKnight controllable options.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The fitting carries an IP20 rating, which limits it to bathroom zones outside the splash areas (typically Zone 3, more than 600mm from a bath or shower). For zones closer to water sources, a higher IP-rated fitting is required.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 130mm void above the ceiling is required to accommodate the fitting body and lamp holder. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 39mm, with only 3mm projection below the ceiling line once installed.

Is the bulb accessible without removing the bezel?

Yes. The lamp holder drops down from the fitting body, allowing the GU10 bulb to be twisted out and replaced without disturbing the ceiling trim or needing to remove the entire fitting.
